Closing Time

After a LOT of thought, consideration, and prayers of course.... I have decided it is in my family's best interest that I "close" Junebug Creations. I want to genuinely thank all of my customers who have believed in my talent as a designer and seamstress and I hope you can all cherish your "creations" forever. This little step in my life will never be forgotten, but it is time for me to move on. It has been an adventure for sure...thanks for being a part of it!

Paducah Bound!

It is already Quilt Show time of year again...time sure flies...seems like it was yesterday that Mom (Gamma), Addie, Aunt Minky and I (with Lydia in my tummy) were just down in KY for the show! I guess life comes at you fast when you're growing a human, raising a toddler, sewing your heart out, and trying to keep up with every day busy-ness!!!

I wanted to let everyone know that I will not have internet access from April 21-24 so if you have questions or need to place an order and I don't respond....well, I'll be "out of the office" on a little girly getaway :)

It was kind of a last minute decision to go this year so I don't have any huge goals for new outfits, but I hope to complete at least 1 newbie and score some fabulous fabric for Summer duds while I'm there :)

Here's a look back at my tiny little girl last year (I'm pretty sure Lydia will fit in these outfits this summer at the rate she's growing!)

Pop Garden and Cherry Baby

I apologize for the lack of posts lately...I have been happily swamped with orders and haven't quite found time to balance sewing and keeping up with the website and blog (not to mention the two little people in my life, a husband, and house chores!). Anyway, I wanted to give everyone a sneak peak at the newest outfits coming for Spring. I am NOT putting them on the website just yet, for fear that I might become totally overwhelmed if any more orders come in before I get the current ones finished :) However, if you are interested in either of these, please let me know now so I can order the fabric and have an idea of how busy I'll be in the next few months. We'll just think of it as a pre-order, I suppose, and you don't have to pay me until I get them on the website.

Speaking of the website, I have been having some issues lately with Paypal and the shopping cart letting me know when I get an order. So for your own safety and my sanity, please send an email to jessalyn@junebug-creations.com after you place an order just clarifying what you would like. And as always, I will gladly accept checks for payment if you would rather just email me your order and stick a check in the mail :)

Happy Spring everyone! Enjoy these wonderful pictures, taken by a new friend of ours :)

Hooray for Handmade!

Good news! The CPSC has granted a stay for the new law until February 10, 2010 and they will use the next year to improve the guidelines to keep our children safe.

With that said, I have waited until the last minute to do some Valentine's shirts and my selection is very limited. Please see here: http://junebug-creations.com/item_27/Be-My-Valentine.htm

I only have a few pink shirts in stock, but I also have white if anyone would rather have the hearts on white. Just email me and let me know if you prefer white and I'll see what sizes I have available.

One more thing, if you're on Facebook and haven't found me yet, I have a fan page for Junebug Creations so please come be a fan! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Junebug-Creations/116670680370

Sad News for Junebug Creations

I have been avoiding this post for several weeks, but I suppose I should fill you all in on the latest news that will affect my business. A new set of laws, called the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), will go into effect on February 10, 2009 and will require all items intended for use by children 12 and under to be tested for lead. Sounds like a great idea right? Well, it's not so good for those of us making and selling handmade items who cannot in any way, shape, or form afford the testing they require.

I have signed many petitions and sent letters to government officials who might be able to help amend this law. This truly affects everyone, please read this blog post by another children's clothing designer for more detailed information on how it might affect you.

I had originally planned to put some Valentine's Day and St. Patricks items on the website, but I'm sorry to say I will not be doing that now because of the new law. I certainly don't want to be fined or do jail time for selling my sweet creations.

Be sure to check back in the near future just in case we find out some good news about this unfortunate law. Thanks so much to all of you who have supported me for the short time I've been in business.

Baby Baby

If you haven't already figured it out...the newest member of our family arrived on October 30th, beautiful Lydia Mae. Everything is going great so far and we are so happy to have a sister for Addie.

It seems that my "to do" list keeps getting longer and longer so I have decided to take a little time off until after the holidays. Be on the lookout for some new additions to the site when things begin to settle down after Christmas. I may even have a few items for the tiniest girls in your life (under 6 mo. sizes!).
